Why else would he waste games with Hicks and a pitcher who just doesn't have it that day? Hicks is a loose cannon who just gives games away - walks, hit batters, wild pitches - good Lord. He belongs in the minors. This isn't the "Major League" movie. If a pitcher does not have it that day, yank him. Quickly - not after it's too late. You have plenty of pitchers in the bullpen - use them!

And get a batting instructor!

I have to think Bernardino has some health issue, because he is  better than 3-4 pen guys on the 26.

Criswell has sucked from the pen.

Murphy was walking the whole world before his demotion.

Harrison, Kelly and Fitts are the only others on the 40. 

While these guys do look better than Hicks, it's not by much, and Hicks is out of options and costly. I think they want to keep him around and hope he regains some composure and skills. In a playoff race, I'm not so sure how much longer we can "hide him" on the 26. We are already "hiding" I Campbell, Matz and Moran, so one has to pitch at some point. We can't finish the season with just 5 guys pitching all the medium and high leverage innings.

Yup, right upside 14 other AL teams in the same boat.

Brez did get Chapman and Crochet. Wilson did okay, for a while and deadline additions M & M have done better than expected.
