It's a new season and Dave O'Brien and Lou Merloni got off to a marvelous start.  Merloni is no Remy, but I found his analysis to be point on.  Particularly when he was evaluating the potential strategy in the top of the ninth with runners on the basepaths before Abreu unloaded his blast.

OB is thoroughly mediocre. I like Lou as an MLB broadcaster more than a radio drivetime guy for sure.

After starting out listening to Curt Gowdy, Ned Matin, and Ken Coleman the NESN both the last several years have been nothing but Yuckers IMO. Lou is better than Youk, and Millar though.

I agree about Youk and Millar. I was not fond of either of those guys. Youk's hat was probably on too tight because he would fill up dead space with a stream of nothingness. We already knew that Millar just likes to hear himself talk. He's better off on the talk show circuit or whatever.

Lou is knowledgeable. He speaks to multiple generations of fans as he can talk stats or just straight baseball. He also lets the game breathe and doesn't jabber on and on. It's nice to just have him on and watch a game. He doesn't take away from it.

My preference would be Monaco and Merloni for all the games. That would be a good hang.
