Throwing pitches up in the zone is not a strategy , actually a tactic, that will bode well for Crawford. It has cost him the first run, and once again the Sox start off behind.

Crawford basically takes a large dump on his team tonight with a useless start covering 3.1 innings. Continuing his ineffectiveness at Fenway makes him a prime candidate to pitch elsewhere next year.

Once the players realized that management gave up on the team (appropriately) the players gave up too. I can’t blame them really. Just playing out the string.
