Bernardino is in big trouble because they are calling his curve a curve. These days it must be called a swerve or slurve or something else that makes no sense. A curve won't get anyone out because it's so passe.

Well, at least he got through the 2d inning. 1-2-3 too.

Good post. I find the "swerve" annoying.

Only thing that could be better about Wong... is if he could have overlapped his stint on the Red Sox with Steven Wright. It would have been pun gold.

Right elbow tightness for whitlock. My goodness this team is the walking wounded.

My goodness is the perfect phrase--and one Cora should be entitled to use several times a day.

Duran is looking like the complete pain in the ass we want him to be.

If this is a rebuilding year... Duran may be a gem we find in this .500 season. Really like his approach and attitude.

Lead off hitter gets on base... the four hole hitter gets him to home plate. This is a fantastic plan. I hope they keep using it.

Meh. I would give more kudos to Wong and Bello. Also Paxton, but he's a veteran.

Also Devers--who seems to be rediscovering his swing.

Pretty much agree- but don't see it as either, or.... Wong to me is like Duran... playing much better than expected (by me) and giving you a solid piece for the roster next year if they continue. Bello,,,, I think he was on most people's radar for his potential. Devers.... I think he has already been paid as a discovered talent... no surprises there. He is our 3rd baseman for a while... which we knew at the start of the season.

What happened with whitlock? Is this cora babying his players?

What an incredibly stupid post and I would have said it real time. My only mistake was starting to peruse the thread without logging in, which meant I actually had to see it.

You really need to learn the value of an unexpressed thought.

Tomorrow's a day off. Nothing could be worse for a pitching staff because rust can set in very quickly. Fortunately, Whitlock only went the 1 inning, so Cora will have a chance to bring in lots and lots of arms. Maybe not Winck or Jansen.

Blue Jays paying very aggressive.. wanting this win and to avoid another sweep. Hopefully our pen can keep us in it. Offensive looks alive on both teams today.

Absolutely agree there is no need to limit the kudos.

Watching these games most days.... what is our one or two biggest holes to fill next year? For me... it's clearly a 2nd baseman, and secondly a good dependable starting pitcher. I'm hoping / assuming Story is our SS.

Don't forget that so far the Jays are getting some help from the guy behind the plate. I try to avoid slamming umps, but today has been very one-sided (and unintentional).

Ort must have one of those rubber arms that allows Cora to use him in every game.

He’s also a guy I don’t think they really care if they burn him out. He is utterly replaceable.
