The SOX had a nice hot offensive streak going until recently. Now they don't. That's what happens during a 162 game schedule and you know that, Max.

Martin is not a pleasant surprise, because he was damn good with LA last season.

I've always wondered if Ted Williams ever have a batting slump. I'm sure he must have.

 

Of course he did. We know this because I've just redefined "slump" as two games in a row. Yoshida is officially in a career-ending two game hitting slump. Williams hit .254 in 1959, age 41--pretty much a season long slump given his career BA of .344. Two years before .388 at age 39. A year later at age 42 he hit .316 with 29 dingers in 390 at bats.

Duran is now hitting .372, with a .420 OBP, has 12 doubled in 22 games, 6 stolen bases and hasn’t been caught.. and most importantly he actually looks competent in field.

 

I’ve also noticed a change in his demeanor, he’s hustling every play and even during his lows, he isn’t walking with his head down and taking it to other parts of his game.

Yes, the bullpen was terrific, and so was Bello (6 innings, 2 runs). Tapi, Kike, Duran, and Casas all came through big time at the plate.
