This weekend's managers: Alex Cora and A.J. Hinch

Maybe. Meanwhile, Boston's front office and ownership recruited and interviewed him to be manager before the 2017 postseason ended, the Red Sox players loved playing for him so much that they set a franchise record for wins, and won a World Series his first year.

Then, after his suspension from the MLB, many of the same Red Sox players implored the front office to rehire him, and he guided them back to the ALCS.

If only they had all consulted the single writer of one book first.

They did! Before 2022's season.

The incident was no secret in when the Red Sox rehired Alex Cora In November 2020:

... and the Boston front office almost certainly was aware of the incident when Cora was originally hired in October 2017. The Red Sox brain trust saw enough in Cora to hire him regardless. Mere speculation but the parties likely addressed the behavior and agreed to specific conditions of employment.

Winning Fixes Everything is not a book about Alex Cora; it's a detailed examination of the evolving culture of the Houston Astros and Major League Baseball. Read it.

If the purpose of the thread was to get us interested in the book, you chose an odd way to go about it.

He chose the most clickbait part of the book for Sox fans.

All the while highlighting the Cora stuff was small, not the main topic, and definitely not clickbait…

It's the way of the world, now. Sensationalism and focusing on the worst in everyone.

I can see how this part of the book was something Sox fans would be interested in. I can see why someone, especially a non-Sox fan, would bring it to our intention.

Just about every person of interest to the public faces this kind of scrutiny and exposure. It's no wonder, we end up with weirdos and narcissists running for public offices. What sane person would seek this out?

FWIW the thread was started in General Baseball Forum, not the Talk Sox Forum, because of the broad scope of the book Winning Fixes Everything.

It was almost entirely about Cora, except the title.

Yes, much was about his time with Houston, but I doubt you posted this on any Astros sites.
