I've never liked the urge to want to inflict harm upon people in ways that are heinous and then dehumanize them to justify such things. I get it, there are some sick individuals (this is going beyond Bauer) that need to be removed from society, and people need to reap what they sow but as someone who has been sexually victimized when they were younger, I've come to view these types of things from a completely different perspective. One thing I've learned about life is that hurt people hurt people. Read that again. Hurt people, hurt people.

Now I never raped anyone, touched a kid, or masturbated in public or any s*** like that but my early childhood trauma lead me down a path of many bad drug addictions and led to infidelity that destroyed many of my relationships, and so on and on. I never try to justify my actions when I was sick but I do try to understand them so I can heal. When I see someone like Bauer I see an *******...But I also see someone that was probably hurt in many ways as a child, or in some way was a victim of some kind of abuse. I see someone just like me...except perhaps he fell a little bit further than I ever did; my traumas never manifested into being an adult man who sexually abuses people, but I've had my own vices.

I don't know if Bauer is really sorry, so I don't know if he truly deserves a second chance, I want to know if he's given himself a second chance. Maybe he just wants to say the right things and get some money. All I know is people are very good at pretending they are remorseful without making ANY changes, but at the same time, they are capable of a change of heart. At first glance, it's impossible to tell them apart sometimes.

If you really cared about the victims, you wouldn't seek revenge, you would seek to build a world that creates fewer victims and that starts by addressing the vast mental health problems in this country.

Well said.

I'd like to add on to the "masturbating in public." I'm not sure about the details and am not trying to defend what he did in any way, but I'm not sure he intentionally did it for others to see. I could be wrong, and certainly he has some issue to be doing that where he might be seen, but intent would make what he did worse, if on purpose.

Bauer has a right to earn a living at his trade. However, a team also has a right not to want him as an employee. So, there is a contradiction there. I suppose some team will give him a shot. I don't have a problem with that. As to the question of will I root for him : My answer is " No. "

Good answer.

Your not talking about Bauer are you?

Did Bauer get convicted of any crime. I haven’t read a lot about his case so I don’t even know the basis for his suspension.

Also, McGuire got convicted of whacking off in public. Why does he get a pass… victimless crime?

He hasn't gotten a free pass. Some have roasted him, here, and wondered why we traded for a guy like him.

I'm not sure he intentionally exposed himself, but he ended up pleading no contest to a reduced 2nd-degree misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.

Prosecuting sex crimes is extremely difficult, even with proof. Bauer beat the s*** out of a woman and tried saying it was “consensual” then once the disturbing pictures came out of the woman, Bauer admitted he hit her but “didn’t mean to hit her that hard” or “that many times”.

She’s one of only three, and Bauer has been involved in three of these type of incidents, including one where he choked out a girl and raped her while she was unconscious and there is text proof of him telling people he did it.

“Then in April, the Post reported another Ohio woman's claim that Bauer also choked her unconscious and sodomized her without her consent during his time with Cleveland's minor league affiliate in Columbus, Ohio. She also shared screenshots of text messages with the Post purportedly showing Bauer telling her, "I want to f*** you while you are completely unconscious."”

“ “I didn’t feel like I hit you that hard, you know?” Bauer said.

The call was 28 minutes long and Bauer admitted to hitting the woman but not realizing how hard he was hitting her or that she was unconscious at during their sexual encounter. Bauer expressed remorse during the call and asked her if he could do anything for her. An independent arbitrator reinstated Trevor Bauer but he was promptly released by the Dodgers.”

There is a lot more out there, but that gist of just those two woman’s stories, pictures and the idiots own comments should give you a general idea of why he for the suspension and why the Dodgers don’t want him, despite the fact he’s an ace level pitcher

If you want an idea of how bad sex crimes are often handled, just read Felipe Vazquez Wikipedia page, check out everything he did, everything he admitted too and try justifying how he only got 2-4 years in prison. He is a literal rapist pedophile with child porn all over his computer.

2 to 4 years, what a sick joke.

How rich people get off free with so much evidence really exposes a giant hole in our legal system. Poor people, with much less evidence are routinely imprisoned for doing less than this sicko did.
