Mr Taillon ( 11-2 3.45 ERA) vs the return of Wacky Wacha (6-1 , 2.69 ERA). Michael Wacha will take his superlative stats against a tough opponent in Taillon. .

For the Sox supposed mid lineup guys, Devers, Bogaerts and JDM , all pitchers are looking tough right now. This triple slump led to the slow start out of the gates in April/early May. It's baaaack !

It would be great to win this series in a big bat way to support Wacha's return.

As most of you already know, Trey Turner is a FA after this season. Bloom, with JH's permission of course, should make a serious attempt to sign him. He's on a one-year 21 mil contract right now with LA. I'd take Turner over Bogey in a NY minute.

What will make Trey a tough acquisition is that most GM's feel the same way.

Wacha has been unreal tonight. A lot like Sale in that he is all business and doesn't shake off pitches. Unlike Sale, he has an excellent repertoire and very good command. That he is this good on his first start back is astounding.

Some credit has to go to Plawecki--despite the snide remark last night that McGuire is the only decent catcher.

I was about to comment that Devers is struggling against heat, but I think I'll hold that for a later game.

Wacha has the yanks guessing which is pissing me off. Have a plan first two strikes and react with 2 strikes. It looks like the yanks decided to pick a zone they’re swinging in an swinging regardless of the pitch or location. Just a slumping team right now. They need Stanton to come back and extend the lineup
