Hill (4.40) vs Marco Gonzalez (3.59), both lefties, edge to Mariners. Mariners start seven righty bats in their lineup.

Sox lineup TBD--start time is 10:10.

One game at a time.

Whitlock to the DL. They are screwing him up trying to make him a starter.

Dang. Garrett Whitlock was scheduled to start the Sunday game that I will attend with a friend who has Whitlock on his fantasy team.

My pedestrian fantasy team has the Seattle starter in all three weekend games against the Red Sox.:(

Good at bats, but then Vazquez screwed the pooch with that K and the bases full. Gonzalez threw 44 pitches in the 1st.

Hills curve so far is taking way too much of the plate

That doesn't bother me nearly as much as that he needed 22 pitches to get three batters out. I like pitching to contact as long as it isn't solid contact.

The last time a Seattle starter failed to go five innings was 17 games ago on May 21 when Chris Flexen left after four-plus innings at Fenway Park.

Any chance the M's would trade France for Dalbec, Franchy, and Arroyo? Hey, M's, you'll be getting a Franchy for a France.

Selling points: Dalbec can throw the leather at 1st; Franchy, when he hits HR's, they go far, and Arroyo, well he has a nice beard.

If you agree to this trade in the next 48 hours, as a bonus the SOX will throw in ace reliever Bra Man.

It had been a while since JD hit one out. Way overdue

So true. What a shmuck he is with that rotten OPS of .974. We need your perspective to realize how truly bad these Sox players are. I mean, why even watch these stupid games when they can't meet your standards?

I am currently committing the cardinal sin of enjoying a highly competitive low-scoring game. Neither pitcher is dazzling, but both are keeping the score low. Best of all, Hill is outpitching Gonzalez.

I do apologize for not chastising every single Sox player for not meeting the very high standards we have on talksox.

Since the start of the 2021 season Bobby Dalbec has a negative 8 Defensive Runs Saves in 1,314 innings at first base while Ty France ranks second among all first basemen with a positive 8 DRS in 1,404.2 innings at first base:

I was making a comment that we was overdue for HR. When is the last time he hit one out? No where I said he was a schmuck or having a bad season. I am one of JDs biggest supporters on this board. You never heard the saying that someone is due for a HR? It doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Sheesh

Wait. I would now like to severely chastise Devers for striking out in his 3d at bat vs. Gonzalez tonight. As I understand it, no pitcher can get hitters out the third time through the lineup, so obviously Devers is a putz and overpaid at $11M this year.
