Josh Taylor maturing into a real pitcher this year ? A Red Sox breakthrough under team control for awhile

Thanks, hope you enjoyed the compliment for about 2 seconds, Josh

The Rays scored 4 runs, tonight on 1 single, 2 doubles,1 triple and 1 HR.

5 hits total

Quality, not quantity. Or in baseball terms timely hitting; something the SOX haven't displayed in quite a while. I can't prove the following is true, but I know it is. The Rays lead the league in timely hitting.

The Rays wouldn't be clutch, would they ?

Lmao!!!

Happens to me too. I compliment someone and it backfires

Except E Rod tonight. He was a beauty

I would have brought Whitlock if he had been available. In fact I would give Whitlock the 8th already moving forward.

Unwritten rule; never compliment a SOX pitcher until he's officially out of the game.

Odd how that does work out, although I am told that the players do not know what we are actually saying here. I think they do

Still, Taylor is one of the reasons this BP has been so solid this year. He’s been so reliable.

Timely=Clutch? A good thing to argue.

I'd like to know what Iortiz and Moon have to say about clutch. I think they have studied it thoroughly

I actually thought it was a good pitch at 95, down and in but Schoop is a hitter. Too bad he wasn't available at the deadline for a prorated $1.5MM

Again? Lol

Well, the Rays have pretty much proven so far this season that timely hitting is sustainable. Whether timely and clutch are the same thing; that's where the argument would come in.

Yeah, they hit in clutch situations very often.

Before this slump, we used to hit for clutch very often too, mostly in late innings.

Renfroe wants to go yard in every AB. Sometimes putting the ball in play is a better thing to do, but these days the later is blasphemy.

If I'm not mistaken, the last SOX timely/clutch hit was Dugo's 2 run game winning HR, which seems like months ago.

I wish Dalbec could have kept the one loud foul straight for his sake and the teams, but I do believe that he has a mindset coming up expecting to K. The face says it all

Not sure, but definitely could be the last time.

While Dalbec has sucked this season, I have the impression that he at least has been bit more patience and making more contact lately at plate.
