These are situations where the Sox hitters need to be more patient. Kike and Devers could have worked walks there

I was thinking exactly the same.

Finally, in the 6th inning with two outs, the first hit from the first six batters in the Sox lineup tonight. A clean single by Bogaerts.

Montgomery, despite the inane and insane comments on this game thread, dominated the Sox. Period.

There are too many people here who just don’t get the art of pitching. You saw a prime example tonight of Warren Spahn’s statement that hitting is timing and pitching is upsetting timing. Of course, what did he know, he only won 360 games give or take.

Arroyo is a walking injury about to happen. He can't be counted on. Go get Rizzo.

IMHO While Arroyo is kind of fragile, it has been more bad luck than anything else.

I haven’t tracked Rizzo. How’s been doing?

This is really tough to watch. Downright embarrassing. If they lose tonight tomorrow they will have to find a way and beat cole.

Way to go, Renfroe. Swing at a ball well above the strike zone for a lazy fly to RF.

It was, to be perfectly honest, a terrific pitch, guaranteed to make a stupid hitter look bad.

Whoever said the Sox, at least tonight, are too aggressive, was absolutely right.

We just can’t t hit in clutch moments against the Yankees lately. f***ing annoying!

Pressing against a team that’s missing their best hitter. Better keep this at 1-0

Better than DalbeK. And going to a contender might just get his bat going. He's a great defensive 1st baseman.

That was a rarity by a Sox pitcher. Three pitches in the upper inside corner plus a waste pitch outside--resulting in a K by Hernandez. Great command.

Well almost every 1B is better than Dalbec I guess but on paper, sure, he is better.

I like Carlos Santana.

Pitching is doing all they can for us.

… and that run was unearned thanks to Vazquez.

Is this all Verdugo is ? No pop mediocre hitter ? Banged up every other year ? Occasional flashes glove ? Isn’t this Benny ? A lesser Benny ? Edited by Swiharts Ghost

I could be wrong, but I think the Sox hitters can thrown at--by that I mean at the head--more often than hitters our pitchers are facing. It used to be called a brush back pitch and was used to set up pitches away from the batter.

Geez those Rays are a pain in the ass, that’s for sure. They came back, again. This time vs Guardians.

Yuppers!

We scored 2 runs in 2 games against them and now none. Won’t beat the worst teams doing that let alone a good team like New York.
