Heaney is not lucky. He's actually had a number of good starts this season and against good teams.

 

That K of Renfroe was a classic example of how he has the Sox mesmerized today. Renfroe let a curve right down the middle go by him, then swung hard and missed the next pitch, a curve below the strike zone. Like watching a great bullfighter work that cape.

The Red Sox scored 18 runs, and gave up 18 runs, in the first five games of the West Coast trip. With the exception of last night's 5-3 loss, all games have been decided by one run.
