I know its baseball. I only said it wasn't good. And now its 2-0 which isn't good. Facts.

Oh, I agree. It’s not good, but at least you’re realistic about what’s happened so far, unlike others here.

If that’s your definition of being bombed, you need a new dictionary.

I leave you to your ridiculous standards.

Troll. Why don’t you go back to your cave. So annoying .

Understood. However, most pitchers actually like to induce grounders, which is what Verdugo hit, especially with a man on 1b. As for those dinky balls by the Angels, that also what hitters like to do, hit over the defense (if you can't hit it out of the park).

You must be a party pooper. Don’t get your panties in a bunch seriously.

I do think we are seeing way more familiar breaking stuff from pitchers since MLB cracked the whip. ERod's pitches never looked much different. So he might not have been using anything. But across baseball, the way breaking pitches were breaking aided by better tacky stuff (Spydertac) was something I had not seen before in all my years with baseball. Guys known for great breaking pitches were suddenly throwing ungodly breaking pitches. Guys with good breaking pitches were suddenly throwing great breaking pitches. Even guys with "meh" breaking stuff were suddenly throwing decent. You could see it from game 1, pitch 1.

I don't blame the pitchers. I blame MLB for allowing them to use tacky stuff for a number of years before the ultimate in tacky stuff became available.

ERod is pitching the 2d inning completely differently from the first. Now he's mixing his pitches and keeping the hitters off guard, which is why he was successful in his last start.

It’s either new sticky stuff or they changed the laces or some combination. Because you are right, some of the breaking stuff has been sick.

True. But in defense of ERod, I think he wasn't using spydertac or whatever, but also wasn't mixing his pitches up. Now he seems to have about 5 of them, including a changeup that's like it was in 2019. Plus his command is way better than earlier in the season.

Unfair, unfair! That guy just poked the ball into RF.

It's ridiculous how the ball has hit the ground for the Angels. I'm still confident we will pound their bum.

Do you actually watch the games? WTF is he supposed to do on two bloops? Seriously, give an answer.

Edit - Three bloops.

Angels are just tying to make contact, which has produced 5 singles. Sox are swinging much harder and have 0 hits. If they can't get a dinger, at least they can get a long fly out, which is almost as good.

Too many pitches so far today in that ugly zone from the top of the thigh to about 3" above the belt. You pitch there and even inside or outside, hitters will get some wood to the baseball and hit a bleeder at least. Worse, if you throw in that box I described and get it over the plate.....prepare to look over the fence for the ball. That pitcher's danger zone box can be a little lower for LH hitters and the few RH hitters that like to drop the head on the ball, like JD.

Some truth in that. ERod so far has a higher strike percentage than Heaney. Some of the fault, however, lies with the Sox hitters who are over-eager to swing and swing hard.

I think he’s playing way too much. He should not be catching 6 games a week.

The All-Star Break can’t come soon enough for him.

Wong has proven he can do the job. Yeah they should share more the load.

I haven't kept good track, but it seems as though this ump gives the corners to the hitters.

Nice play by Bogaerts. And another.

You guys are lucky you're not suffering by watching the Angels telecast. 75% of the time, the camera is on Shohei, not on the game.

Tampa making Cleveland their bitch today.

Tampa is gonna make the playoffs. Still feel they will be in the run. Yankees will have chances to gain ground on us but you wonder how they buried themselves but the season is long.
