7/24 SOX @ Rays

jacksonianmarch is that rare poster who remains loyal (but not uncritically so) to the Yankees but is somehow able to criticize the Sox without being offensive. He likes to talk and argue about baseball players, teams, salaries, you name it--just like many of our talksox posters. He is opinionated, knowledgeable, and insightful, but never obnoxious.

 

Having an opinion and being confident is one thing, but it gets annoying how much he hopes Boston will fail.... "Eovaldi will fail and I will be eating popcorn watching it" OR whatever he said. I get there is a rivalry here no doubt, but what is the point in going to another board to be insulting and say "I will watch this player fail" He has said many things like this but I am too lazy to go back and find them all and paste them. Again I am not saying he is not knowledgeable because he is, but he is still ignorant at the best of times. With that said I could care less if he is on the board or not.

He seems obnoxious to me..... Maybe I have a short memory but I just don't recall him being on the board much the last couple years, of course because the Yanks are having a good season and the Sox are struggling he seems to be posting a ton and generally seems cocky about the Yanks.... That is what makes me not like opposing fans. I am on the Houston Texans board and I am not arrogant what so ever even though the Colts own the Texans. Jacko is definitely an intelligent person I will give him that, but he is still irritating.

 

Jacko has been here the last couple of years, and much longer. He does tend to post more, and get rather carried away, when his team is doing well and the Sox are not. And yes, he does troll at times and he does get obnoxious. Personally, being that this is a Red Sox forum, I think he should stay out of the game threads with his 'piling on', but it's a public forum.

 

All that said, Jacko will take his lumps when things are not going the Yankees' way. He will be very critical of his team at times and very complimentary of the Sox at times. Overall, he's a good and knowledgeable poster.

 

Bottom line: He's a Yankees fan. They are just not as cool as Red Sox fans are. Not even close.

Dress it up anyway you want, but he does it in an insulting way as if he is rooting for our failure..... Again he is a Yankees fan so I understand that is very natural but I just find it odd to come on another teams board and do it. Much different than us criticizing a player for not playing up to expectations. Completely different. Anyway this is a pointless argument. You like him and he isn't going anywhere so let's move on.
