There are certain hitters that are having down years. Dombrowski decided that the pen was sufficient this season without a legit closer.. other relievers were lost as well e.g., Joe K.

The starting pitching has been extremely inconsistent (and I am being kind). Tht about sums it up.

 

The truth is that DD could not spend the necessary money to bolster the pen. He had to hope that somehow THIS wouldn't happen. Of course, it did. The other thing that happened is that our SP, which was supposed to be a strength of this team, has totally sucked. Also, there has been a clear lack of focus by nearly every player on this team as evidenced tonight by Bradley failing to back up Martinez in RF. Brain dead plays like that are commonplace this year. Finally, Cora has been exposed as an incompetent manager this year. Thats my own opinion for the debacle that is this year's team.

Hard to know but I'll tell you this he has people non baseball people that follow his Buisiness workings And those people know the hard green facts .More Games in October means millions in the Pocket of said owner .I would think Dave may have to make a huge splash to get those games in October .We need a top rotation type pitcher and a power bat .

The man is already outspending everyone. If I am him, I am ridiculously pissed off. I wouldn’t pay more into the pot at this point. People Re getting paid to make this work and they are simply FAILING. Dave is in the hook for this.. and of course, some of the players are just not getting it done. It’s that simple.
