1. His hustle. Easy ground ball to 2nd baseman, and he's running for his life. Slides into 2nd safely on a simple boot.

2. Nice play at 2nd saving Devers a Wild Pitch into RF. And, then, reacting to the situation and getting the out,

Have they been hiding this guy somewhere?

Looks to me like we're finally in Good-to-great condition every where excepting PITCHING!

They haven't been hiding him. He's been injured. He had shoulder surgery and then a major setback during rehab.

I had always been high on Marco, but after so many injuries and setbacks, even I gave up on him.

I'm glad to see him doing well out of the gate.

He's a better fielder than what we have, which may not be saying much. His offense has shown promise, but he's had some bad numbers, too.

I'm pulling hard for him.

I, too, like the way he plays the game.

Marco is my favorite player right now .Love his approach at the plate and his confidence .Marco and Chavis are huge additions .Mitch ,Hembre ,Evo are also going to help a lot .I think we need a Closer and a starter though . Edited by Swiharts Ghost

Yes, I remember your support for him and it is good to have a 2nd base prospect that may cover the real need we have at that position. He has made a good start, yet it is wise to see how he does over a longer period. Not having to go out to fill that position for 2020 would allow us more resources for our main need, which is pitching.

This team needs a closer, another reliever and a starter. Sale is all over the place right now as is Porcello.

Chances are we can only afford one solid acquisition or two decent ones.

I'd go closer and set-up, unless Eovaldi is looking strong by the deadline.

I saw Marco in Portland at a time when he was their best player. He was their everyday ss at the time. I' have been on his band wagon since then. If he is healthy, he makes a solid second baseman for this team.

His health has been the main question mark. We have the time now to evaluate him through the rest of 2019.

Good OP, good thread. I too like Hernandez a lot. Losing Kinsler and then the injury to Holt forced the FO to bring up first Chavis and now Hernandez to play 2B. Kinsler got the gold glove, but I don't miss him at all, and I hope Hernandez stays in Boston for awhile. Nunez at 2b is a travesty.

If they need that much, maybe selling is in order...

There's no way we trade for 3 solid pitchers. You are right, if that's what we need, we should decide to be sellers.
