Which is absolutely baffling that pitchers are giving him anything other than high heat. If I were pitching to him, I would throw him breaking balls down and out of the zone and high fastballs. He would see nothing else. I had a similar issue as a ballplayer (Chavis is clearly way better than I was). The high fastball was impossible to lay off of and very hard for me to hit. As a RH hitter, I loved the low ball which was outside of the expectations of most RH hitters

You'd think by now that Betts should be looking for a fastball down the middle on the 1st pitch. Taking the 1st pitch constantly, imho, is a bad habit.
