Domingo German (9-1 3.43 ERA) vs Big Dick Rick Porcello (4-4 4.41 ERA)

German is tough, but has struggled his past two starts giving up 10 run (9 earned) in 10 innings, raising his ERA from 2.50 to 3.43. Sox need to get to him as Yankees bullpen allows almost nothing.

Steve Pearce was placed on the DL so the Red Sox are very thin at 1B, Sam Travis up.

This is almost a must win early in the season.

Can we honestly drop the EARLY from here on out in reference to 2019. We are now in the Mid-Season stretch of June-July. To put a finer point on it, if Boston wins their next 7 in a row ( a first for 2019) and the Yankees lose their next 7 in a row, the Sox will only be 1 1/2 games out.

Better yet the Red Sox need to win today to stop a 3 game losing streak, which IIRC, was 2018's longest . Or maybe just show some competitiveness and resiliency.

It will be of interest to see if Steve Pearce's bad back IL stint is the beginning of the end of his time with the Sox. Over twelve million dollars of 1Bmen, in their 30's, on the IL. The replacements are Chavis and Travis. Those two should get an AVIS endorsement.

Chavis may be AVIS, but the rest of the team truly HERTZ.

Will Chavis play 1B and Holt or Nunez at 2B?

Too bad, Pearce was finally heating up. Moreland gets hurt every year.

That's why DD was so concerned with the BUDGET, he failed to get a good reliever. He looked in the NATIONAL league, but didn't have the DOLLAR he needed. The Sox as an ENTERPRISE could afford whatever they wanted but chose to bat chAVIS SIXTh . By the way, Sam Houston didn't fight at the ALAMO. William Buck TrAVIS did and died for his efforts . Why you ask ?? Because he had no RELIEF forces.

One thing that boggles me a bit is that Tanaka has been really good this year and is healthy. CC has been good, but is currently on the DL. Why not throw Tanaka tomorrow, take the off day to recover and start CC vs Toronto on a Tuesday?

Well done. Makes me want to go and rent a car. Btw, I like your attitude. If your rooting for a lemon, make lemonade.

The most surprising thing about Sam Travis is he wasn't born in Texas. Born in Chicago, ILL.

Just to wear this out pregame, Sam Houston was born in Virginia and his family migrated to Tennessee . He later lived with Cherokee Guardians , was known as the Raven, which is more than a certain squaw Senator from MA can say. He fought in the War of 1812 , was a U.S. Rep from Tennessee and only went to Texas in 1832 .

William B. " Buck" Travis North American ancestors appeared in the late 1600's, but he was born in So. Carolina, and grew up in Alabama. Married, became a lawyer , got indebted (see married) eventually wandered off to Mexican Texas in 1831, later organizing a militia to eventually participate in the Texas Revolution . Died at the Alamo in 1836, not survivng to see the Republic of Texas , formed under Sam Houston's leadership a few months after the Alamo . Both Houston and Travis knew Davey Crockett well, but neither knew Sam Travis or his folks in Chicago, which is an Indian name for stinking onions.

Makes sense. The Yankems have a German pitching today so have a Japanese pitching tomorrow. Axis Powers. No relation to Austin Powers.

As we shared the other day, gotta have some fun with this hot mess. As the lawyers say, If you have the facts, argue the facts. If you have the law, argue the law. If you don't have either and are a Red Sox fan, just argue.

Big two games coming up. BRUINS have to win at least one of them.

Would consider a Cup win for the Bruins a real equal to the Red Sox 2018 playoff campaign. Just beat whoever they put in front of you. It would help if Pastrnak would shoot one time, Marchand control the puck and shoot and Bergeron make it all look easy.

Cora had a dream and woke up saying this is the way to win . Mookie to the top. Beni's 3 for 40 leading off wwas an epic missed opportunity to benefit from Mookie's power.

My kid just threw up on me. This is a good sign. We will win.

My kid decided to pass on dessert today.. it must be a sign.. a sign of a Red Sox blow out!

The 'perfection' line has been far from in the 1st 2 games.
