Unless you've got a better idea.

I wouldn’t give up on the season when we are effectively tied for a WC.. but watching performances like this, I hear you.

I don't think Sale threw a change till the 3rd inning. By then they were actually hitting his slider. Not hard, but still, that IS his wipeout pitch. When they are hitting it, he is in trouble. At one point, Sandy was not calling for the FB at all and when he did, Sale was missing by a foot or up in the middle of the plate. That stretch were Sandy kept calling Slider after Slider killed Sale. Don't care how good a pitch is, let ML hitters see it enough, they will lay off the pitches off the plate and hit the pitches on.

Exactly. Sale needs to focus on locating #1. If he needs to sacrifice command for velocity, then go with the slower heater. Before his shoulder issue, he could get to two strikes and the hitter had to guess. Either 98 up or wipeout slider. Now, it's 94 up or wipeout slider. 94 they can drive or foul off. That velocity difference is enormous. 91 or 94 doesn't really matter. 94 or 98 does. If he doesn't have the high 90s heat when he needs it, he needs to command the low 90s stuff and forget the higher heat if he loses command. A funky pitcher locating 91 and throwing a wipeout slider will be far harder to hit than a guy missing with 94 and throwing a wipeout slider. I would also force Sale to use the changeup more, even if it is just a show me pitch

Who is warming in the pen for us. Any idea?

No, but Chris Sale had 10 K's in only 6 innings. I know your point about the NESN guys

It was Colton Brewer last they mentioned unfortunately

Is Casas and Dalby going to get a look soon ? Can Dalby play Outfield or is a 3b only guy ? Can Casas play another position ?

Our crack NESN broadcast team must have missed Cora getting Brasier up. They are just soooooooo bad.

Casas is in LOW A and is nowhere near MLB ready. Dalbec is doing mediocre in AA.

yeah mabin has to be cooked

Maybin is actually pretty likely to stick around for us. He is an elite defender who offers speed off the bench. As good as Frazier has been, he has been an adventure in RF and when our OF returns to full strength, Frazier would be best served to spend time in AAA to get more ABs. Frazier is very likely to be our starting LFer for 2020

Brasier got bored with Gardner so just gave him the walk before Brett hit 20 foul balls. Now going for the DP, It's much easier

Against a rag arm like Happ, pathetic(a popular word this year) is absolutely correct.

Happ is what he is. He's an excellent 5 inning pitcher. He and CC are essentially the same with Happ more durable
