I am shocked that Sale is still out there. Here is what I saw with Sale. He K'd the side showing his slider in the first inning. His changeup has been essentially non existent. His FB he is still not locating well and his velocity is inconsistent. He's tossing 95 and then sitting 92-93. Moreover, he is leaving too many pitches in the middle. His slider is a wipeout pitch, but once we saw it through 2 innings, we could foul it off or lay off it. Most ace pitchers don't show all their stuff early, but with Sale not having great command and lacking the top end velocity pitch to pitch, he is throwing all of his pitches from the getgo. If he cannot locate his heater, he isn't going to beat the good teams.

That division is very tough but i feel its between the colts and the Texans still. I don’t like the titans or the jags.

Agreed! Though the Jags got Foles which will help them a ton. But I still think it comes down to Houston and Indy.

So you want to give up on the season already?

Give him a 10 day IL although depending on the damage, he may need more to get truly healthy. But it's still early. Wait until we hit June before getting too concerned.

Once JD gets right just keep him out of the OF PLEASE Alex..I am begging you man.

Behind 3 and having to face the Yankee bullpen is no bargain. Not to mention, keeping them from scoring more will be a challenge. Tough start to the series.

The SOX could wait to put him on the IL until they're out of it. That would make it about Monday.

Lmao !!! Hey for real lets get some other excitement going .Who can we promote early ? Dalby ? Do it !!!

remember when he snapped his tibia jumping on home plate?

Unfortunately. He was on my fantasy team at the time. Even then, he wasn’t very fast. Now I’m pretty sure the average fan has better speed than him.

This is likely his last hurrah. He will be DFA'd when Didi, Judge or Stanton return

Like the recent Astros series, this one in NY has been discussed as one to show how this year's Sox measure up against top teams. 2 games to go, but I think we are getting a glimpse of the same team we have seen all along. Inconsistent, boring and with little playing to ability.

While we sit with Nunez, and bringing back the heralded Leon. Cashman had a very active off-season, grabbiing the top relievers on the market. Signing a bunch of depths and still make moves to get Morales forwhatever reason. At lease he won't sit and watch.

Unless you've got a better idea.

It’s not even June yet, there is no one worth calling up and playing. Also that plan wouldn’t even work. Moreland is on IL.

I’m fine with DFA Nunez though.

I don't think Sale threw a change till the 3rd inning. By then they were actually hitting his slider. Not hard, but still, that IS his wipeout pitch. When they are hitting it, he is in trouble. At one point, Sandy was not calling for the FB at all and when he did, Sale was missing by a foot or up in the middle of the plate. That stretch were Sandy kept calling Slider after Slider killed Sale. Don't care how good a pitch is, let ML hitters see it enough, they will lay off the pitches off the plate and hit the pitches on.
