Boyd came into the game with a 2.96 ERA and was 5th in the AL in K's. He's certainly more 'special' than any starter the SOX have right now.

Fair point.

It just magnifies how pitch-poor the SOX minor league has been for years.

You certainly have that right. The tide may change in a year or two but definitely hasn't yet.

Mookie and X have hit the ball hard. The rest of 1-6 sucks balls and 7-8-9...well what can I say. Lin made more of a contribution than we should expect from him. So I really can't complain about the bottom with Sandy down there.

Well said, came at a good time as Xander crushed that lol!

Hard it ball percentage. MLB has determined that any ball hit 95mph or higher is considered a hard hit ball. Mookie has a hard hit ball % of 100 today.

If a ball was coming at me 95 mph I would throw up.....

Pearce was a great pick-up for the SOX last year. This year demonstrates why he's traded so often.

It was, he was really good when we got him. I didn't know much about him but all my Jays friends said it was an excellent pickup for the Sox..... Not sure what's happened this year though lol.

Wow, Pearce struck out in the time it took me to legit tie my shoe.

Going out on a limb, but guessing Pearce can't keep up this level of suckage too long. But DD got himself in a corner with this signing. He will be an expensive fail if he doesn't come around, and untradable to a contender if he doesn't come around. Of course, Moreland hasn't yet incurred his annual injury that makes Pearce the insurance policy.

Nice pitch there by Thorny to get the dribbler. For all the talk about the heat pitchers can bring, I am personally amazed at how many secondary pitches they are all throwing....in any count no less.

Lin has been working with Veritek at the catching position to serve as an emergency 3rd catcher for the SOX.

I read that this morning too, and wondered why the note didn't end with the requisite, LOL
