Rumor: Paul Goldschmidt to the Yankees???

I saw a rumor floating around over the weekend; the dbacks are trying to get rid of Greinke's contract, maybe if we take on that contract we can make it happen, 3/135 is still a lot, but we have more than enough room to accommodate him; I know I'm dreaming but you never know.

I would be ok with Greinke, not so much with goldschmidt.

If Hank says screw it and lets Cashman go out and add $150M to our payroll then sure, why not. But since that probably is not the case, I think the money is best spent elsewhere.

It sounded like the rumor was that Greinke is on the block, and it was morphed into Goldschmidt & Greinke.

Don’t want Greinke. Far too expensive for a guy who’s fastball velocity dipped below 90mph this year. He on the Sabathia curve for decline and his homer rates have risen dramatically.

I doubt we’d be that dumb. A guy with an immense homer rate in the NL who’s velocity is going south as he ages isn’t a good bet to be successful in NY. Also, one must consider the lost time he had due to an anxiety issue which clearly won’t be helped in NY
