Happ, lefty vs. Johnson, lefty

Big advantage to Yankees. Happ>>>>Johnson plus the Yankees hammer lefties whereas our guys roll over and play dead. 10 days ago Happ went 6 and gave up 1 unearned run vs. the Sox, but Eovaldi was even better, giving up 0 runs in 6. Then Workman and Brasier did their magic act and the Yankees took it 3-2.

The Yankees still have an incentive to win this one I think, whereas our guys lately seem to have no incentive. Still, not too shabby--

Betts CF

Beni LF

JDM RF

Bogey SS

Pearce 1B

Devers 3b

Nunez DH

Kinsler 2B

Swihart C

7 righty bats and Beni and Devers

Looks good to me!. Alitttle surprised Holt isn't in there, but then, what does the game mean? Look sees? Pitcher warm=ups?

Geez, our next 8 games could be against the Yanks...6 almost for sure. Tonight good practice against Happ who we will probably see in game one.

As to Oakland, the only way they can play at home is to sweep their final series, while the Yanks get swept by us.

2 out, 2 strike pitching is why Brian Johnson cannot be of much value in the post season. he made a good contribution during the season but just doesn't have the stuff to shut another team down. The game may be meaningless to the Sox, but this series will show the holes we have , if any.

Just tuned in when Judge got ball four. Johnson looks pretty decent, but the Yankees love lefties. Meanwhile Happ has faced our top 6 hitters, three of whom K'd and none of whom got on base.

Laz Diaz is always a terrible umpire.

Consistently one of the worst in the league. Any reason that some of the worst of the worst are affirmative action placements ?

What the heck has Happ got? He just threw three straight 92 mph fastballs to Nunez, one near the middle, and got 2 strikes. Overall. he threw five fastballs and 1 slider and got a ground out on a ball well above the zone.

I can't believe how bad our lineup looks tonight. I could understand it if Happ was throwing good stuff, but he absolutely is not. 80% 92 mph fastballs, all 4 seamers.

Someone suggested Sale's last outing should be seen as rope a dope. Maybe tonight the entire team is doing it. Weak, weak hitting first time thru the lineup.

Nunez gets himself out most times by helping the pitcher out swinging at balls with his abysmal plate discipline.

He’s a faster version of the Panda!

Yankees have advantage in the head to head series, if they end up with the same record, the WC is in the Bornx

Here's a suggestion to the boys--- Either figure Happ out or else be ready to see him twice in a 5 game win or go home series.

Johnson's done OK when he is hitting corners, but not when he throws three straight smack dab in the middle--well, close to it. Of course, if Happ had done that, our guys would have struck out or hit weak grounders or something. He has their number big time.

This team has been good through the motions these last 10 games or so. I want them to beat the Yankees in this series.

After the ALDS, it will be interesting to see the discussion on the value or even existence of "clutch", momentum, motivation or any other psychological interpretations of why some players and teams are winners, and some just never get there. Will winning too early by too much and Cora's rest programs help or disrupt the concept of knowing your place on the team or in the lineup ?

Meanwhile , the guys are stinking up the current game between Johnson and Cuevas, neither of whom are likely to be in unis for the ALDS.

Pathetic thus far. Skankees have all the confidence in the world right now.

And here's a suggestion to Cora. Why not just challenge your team, with an A lineup on the field, to beat these MF's just once to see if you can do it ? This coasting into the playoffs really sucks. Your 107 wins will soon be history.

What a miserable game.

And I'm watching on the boob tube. I can change channels, turn the sucker off, whatever. But somewhere north of 35,000 fans are paying a lot of money tonight to be even more miserable. That really stinks.
