One of the most disgusting loss this year. Pomeranz, Kelly, Cora all very big reason for this loss.

Normally I like listening to Cora because he is a straight shooter. But this time he may have been on drugs.

 

Then Pom himself said he was pleased with his outing except for two pitches ( curve balls that left the yard ). He said his curve ball was good.

 

Ooookay.

I didn’t see much of the first 4 innings, so I need to ask.

 

Every pitcher hangs a breaking ball or two (sometimes they get away with it) but was the curve decent overall? You can’t dismiss the homers but was there something positive to take, even if it was just a couple of innings? Were the balls put in play ropes or just routine outs?

Some of the curves looked sharp. Some of the curves it looked like he lost it. And some of the curves just spun up there screaming to be hit. He has a problem with the curve right now. And his FB is good.....For High School.

Good for you. I dislike Pom a ton, but agree with slasher9 that curve worked when it wasn't up and fat. Still no changeup, however.

Yup. Its one of the reasons I like him. We'll never have that complaint about Jackie.

 

Even that infamous triple play didn't involve a lack of hustle. It got started because the umpire failed to make the call on an Infield Fly - and the runners got hung out to dry.

That's the spirit. It's frustrating to lose to the Os, especially when we score 6 runs, but it happens.
