It was a good thing the SOX didn't go overboard with the celebration at home plate yesterday. As fragile as this team is they can't afford celebration injuries.

Tony Phillips has been promoted to AAA. He will be the starting second basemen for the Sox very soon. He had a very good year last year and still has something left in the tank.

Dave Dombrowski always makes good moves prior to the trade deadline. Getting Pearce for a low level minor leaguer was a really good move and he also signed Tony Phillips recently and that it turn out to be a good move also.

Well I hate to bust balloons around here, but I said it at the time, giving Swi the Sox bullpen game was NOT a vote of confidence from Cora. It was just the opposite. Cora is almost going to treat this like Swi is an emergency catcher and THAT is what Cora thinks of him. Hope Sandy survives it. IMO, Cora is going to take Sandy out from behind the plate when he absolutely has to do it.
