Here's what I don't get about those who hate the ASG. I'm watching it right now and everyone out there is really trying. The NFL Pro Bowl and especially the NBA All-Star game are pretty much shams because nobody wants to play hard or rough. The NBA All-Star game is very much an exhibition, much like the Harlem Globetrotters with virtually no defense.
