Sort of amazed that the Angels have made a game of this. But as usual, they can't pitch worth beans which will likely be their undoing AGAIN tonight.

Boy if I really cared about the Angels I would really start questioning where the heck they think they are going. All these years with Trout...can't pitch their way out of a paper bag and poor Mike Scoschia always looking like there is a rain cloud following him around.

When it first happened I thought he was spiked.

I seriously dig you Slash, but dang, if you want to be the person who feels Pedey's legacy needs to be defined on one line he said that who know what the situation was, then I have to disagree with you. There seems to be some strange schadenfreude going on with that whole episode.

Is this the longest 9 inning game of this SOX season so far? It has to be.

Probably is but not by as much as we would think. Arn't are games averaging 3:15 or some ridiculous number like that....tops in the league.

Trout’s signed through 2020 but at least he’s cashing in. He might get another fat contract if he keeps hitting and doing well.

In the modest words of a person whose name I won't mention "this couldn't have been done without me."

The SOX end the 1st half of the season at .667. Did anyone see that back in late March?

Not me, certainly. I would have been ecstatic with .600. I also didn't expect JDM to be this good, for Betts, Beni, and Bogie to bounce back this well, nor for the pitching, especially, the rotation, to be this good.

I don't see anything strange about it at all. Pedey had a choice - to stand up with his players or to throw them under the bus - and we know which one he chose. At the end of the day he chose to salve over the issue with a punk from another team who'd just injured him rather than stand up with his teammates. IMO (and apparently Slash's too) he made two very wrong choices. First, he should have sided with his team, and second, if he didn't feel he wanted to do that he should have at leastkept his mouth shut.

That may not define his entire career but it does bring into question his status as a "teammate".

It would be kind of nice if we could all just move on from it. I've certainly heard 'It's not me it's them' used as a joke often enough now.

it's the reason i hated Lackey. he showed up his teammates all the time.

do i think pedroia is a great baseball player? yes he was. do i think he is a good teammate? no effing way

we are all former athletes at some level (some of us still playing in men's leagues or coaching our kids) and being a good teammate is at the top of my list.
