Whats crazy is a lot of these plays aren't even being ruled errors, but bad defensive plays are making the job harder for pitchers. There has been multiple times this season Nunez has bobbled a double play ball, and still gotten an out so it technically not an error. JD Martinez is same in the outfield, that is a hit but that ball needs to be caught.

This right here is currently an awful defensive team. Beni is not a CFer. JD is not any sort of fielder. Nunny is not a 2nd baseman. Devers has got a long way to go to be a 3rd baseman and Lin while better defensively than most of the sludge we are tossing out there lately is ....well.....our backup.

 

Moreland can't make every play but based on this alignment, you would think that is what we expect.

Too many basic plays elude us in this alignment. They can make some spectacular plays because they have been playing this game their whole lives. But when you can't make basic plays you are a bad defender.
