Just like Pedroia. When he did it, it always used to irritate me

Why was everyone clamoring to move Devers up higher in the batting order? His best positions season to date have been 6th, 7th, and 9th where his combined OPS is 1.222. Batting 5th his OPS is .769 and dropping as I write. Chances are good he will go hitless again tonight--his fourth straight game batting 5th and going hitless.

Overreaction to a 4 game sample.

Pomeranz is what they called "wildly effective".

Nothing like a guy who leaves the opposition wondering why they can't put anything together against him. Better to be lucky sometimes than good all the time.

That's right, he goes 3-2 so much and gotten away with them all year.

Not a four game reaction. I said at the outset his OPS batting 5th is .769 for I think 11 games. His OPS for the season is 1.007 and at those other 3 positions, where he has batted I think 10 games, 1.225.

Indeed, his season to date is a small sample size, but that hasn't stopped virtually this entire board (including me) from saying he can hit anything anytime. All I'm suggesting is the conservative approach for a 20 year old, no matter how good, isn't necessarily bad.

Stankees feasting on the crappy tigers thus far 6-0

Calm down. We still got three against Oakland and three against Cincy

The defense just took a tremendous hit. I thought that this no Collusion rule was supposed to reduce injuries. Such BS. Bradley could have steamrolled that catcher and everyone would be okay.

I think the rule-makers assume that a fluke thumb injury is probably less serious than, say, a concussion or broken leg. I love the rule. But then, that may be because I'm not a big fan of pointless injuries or Pete-Rose-style cheap shots.

Anyone else watching these games on MLB.com? Last night and tonight: every 1.2 inning, back to back cell phone and Bank of America's stupid commercials. Every 1/2 inning, same 2 pieces of crap. Who can't sell commercials, NESN or MLB.com?

I can't say yet how good Kluber's pitches are, but he has a good mix and can really hit the outside parts of the strike zone.

I honestly want to disagree with you, but the simple fact is that Mookie is a sucker for a slider or even a curve, so he must swing at fastballs in the zone, especially on the first pitch. Of course, in his second at bat Kluber threw a cut fastball on the outside corner.

Interestingly, Beni did swing at the first pitch, and it was a fastball low and below the strike zone.

Saying it may have killed his career is probably (i hope!) a bit of an overstatement, but as he was streaking for home I was asking "WHY?" We had tied the game, he would have been on 3B with one out anyway, and obviously it was going to be a close play at the plate.

And my "Why" came while the ball was in the air. The gamble just didn't seem worth the reward for me, and that was before the thumb injury - which was totally unforeseeable.

I hear you brother. That's just me being over dramatic. Well, we will see. I'm ok with rajai holding down CF for a bit...
