Porcello has not been the pitcher that he was last season, which I don't think anyone thought he would be, but he has really gotten short changed by our offense.

His ugly start to the season will hurt him stat wise for the rest of the season but just like Price, Porcello is also getting better each game. His last handful of starts have been good to very good. I think he has figured out his game and has settled down a bit. We should have a solid rotation the rest of the way now...... hopefully.

Agree on both Price and Porcello.

I knew Price would rebound.... regular season wise. I am getting slightly nervous as to what he will do come playoffs. Another stinker from him would not go over well with the public.

And a good playoff performance may not turn his detractors.

Right now the Sox have the best pitching staff in the AL and a mediocre lineup. If ERod pitches to his capability tonight, that makes Porcello our 4th or 5th best starter. I thought his changeup on Saturday looked pretty lousy.

Funny thing is that almost all our starters and most of our relievers have one thing in common: they all love their fastballs. Even Pom, who certainly doesn't have a great fastball, uses it a lot.
