Two lefties, Santiago vs. Pomeranz

Huge win last night with a solid start by Sale, great GIDP by Hembree in the 7th, solid 8th by Barnes, ditto Kimbrel in the 9th--and some good hitting by Moreland, Pedey, and even Betts for a change.

vs. a Twins lefty, maybe we see Vazquez catching and Marrero (really?) at 3b and Young in RF tonight. I'm fine with any lineup.

About 3 games or so ago the Fox announcers said the Sox are 37-10 when the score 4 or more runs, which was exactly the case last night.

In other words, unlike almost all other Sox teams in the John Henry era, this team needs solid pitching to win consistently. Solid hitting would also be nice, but some hitting might do it.

Still "tied" with the Yankees, the Sox are now 3 up on Tampa and 4.5 on the Orioles and tied with the Yankees for #1 wild card.

#2 wild card right now is, guess who, sports fans, the Twins, who have easily the best road record, 23-10, in MLB.

So no cakewalk tonight. We need solid work again by our starter and bullpen--and just enough hitting. Some good D would also be nice.

First, I apologize for the longwindedness in the OP, but that's just the way i am. T

Second, some good short comments from everyone else. I'm as anti-Pomeranz as anyone, but have to admit he is proving me wrong and i couldn't be happier that he is.

Third, mlb.com says the Sox will go with this lineup

Betts

Pedey

Bogie

Young (DH)

JBJ

Travis (1b)

Beni

Vazquez

Marrero

By my count that's two lefties and 7 righties.

I see Moreland is sitting. I hope it's just a blow so he can rest his foot.

Otherwise I would like to see both Moreland and Travis in the same lineup most nights with Young spelling one of them at DH as well as being the #4 OF.

I haven't been able to sit down and watch a full game in like a week. Am actually kind of excited to be able to do so lol.

Same. And, tomorrow, I leave for Germany for 10 days, so it will be awhile before I can sit down and enjoy a game again. Win. Dance. Repeat. x2

We won against Minnesota's very good ace last night. The next 3 pitchers they're throwing at us are very 'blah'.

We should be able to win at least 2 of the next 3.

Go Sox!!!

The Twins are 4 games over .500 with a -41 run differential. That's insane.

Not saying that they're going to be easy to beat the remaining games, but they've been a tad lucky.

Fairfax, VA is a boring place. The highlight of my day is being able to sit down and watch the Sox.

Of course, outside of my family, that's the highlight of most of my days. :P

Nothing tops where I live; on the border of NC and VA. Only have a couple thousand in my town.

I live in southeastern VA where there is plenty going on.

Are you in VA or NC?

LOL Sounds exciting.

I had no idea where that was, so I looked it up. Not too far from the exciting town of Fairfax.

Cool. It takes me about 30 minutes to get to the NC border.

I am familiar with the 'ruralness' of the area.

Crofton, MD isn't much more exciting lol. I just haven't had the work schedule to watch many games, and weekends I don't usually have time to sit down and watch game aside from Sunday day games as its only time to hang out with my friends who are back from college... and of course almost every Sunday we play at 8 pm..
