I wish this team would run more, 3-2 count Mookie should definitely be running. I know theyre down by 5 but Pedroia is a DP machine.

Putting Pedroia in the 2-hole is terrible.

Price hurry back.

No kidding. When is his expected return date?

The biggest thing I looked forward to this season was our top three starters, with a side of E-Rod, Pom or Wright. And of course Robbie Ross.......

No production from the bottom of the line-up tonight. Red Sox batters 5-8: Moreland 0-4, Young 0-4, Leon 0-5, Rutledge 1-4. Production from Brewers batting 5th, 7th, 8th: Santana 2-4, Broxton 3-3, Arcia 2-4. And I don't even wanna talk about the pitching. I'm gonna be sick if I talk about the pitching. Allowing eleven runs to a perennial losing franchise like Milwaukee is utterly inexcusable and beyond disgusting. Pomeranz and Hembree are the clear villains, but I blame Farrell for leaving them in too long and the pitching coach who's name presently escapes me and no I'm not gonna go look it up before posting this message because I'm so mad at him that I don't even want to know his name. What is the pitching coach for if not to prevent such disasters as occurred today? I guess I gotta blame Leon, too. What kind of game did he call? Couldn't he settle his pitcher down? Okay, I vented and this game is behind me! At least the Yankees lost today. But those damn O's keep winning. I have to worry about those O's? NOOOOOOOOOOO! I curse the O's.

So why did you leave out the Brewer's #6 hitter? Oh, he went 0-4. I guess it didn't fit the narrative.

Why leave Pomeranz in? Many just don't get the fact that you can't always manage for today this early in the year. You honestly expect the pen to get 8+ innings? With Kendrick pitching tonight? Sometimes the starter has to eat innings.

As for Hembree, he only threw 13 pitches. I'm amazed Scott was actually able to get ready that fast.

Oh, and the Brewers have virtually the same record as the Red Sox, and the same record as the defending champs, all of which means nothing at this point.

Hmmm. I completely agree that the bottom half of the order was terrible last night, but the Sox still scored 7 runs. It would appear that Farrell's changes to the lineup have now paid off for 3 straight games.

But your comment about leaving Pomeranz and Hembree in too long makes no sense at all. Almost all the damage to Pomeranz was done in the first inning, but he finally got out of it with just 5 runs. There are very, very few MLB managers who will take out a starter in the first inning for less than 7 runs. As it turned out, Pomeranz went 3 more innings and gave up 1 more run, and the Sox got it back to 6-4 when Farrell pinch hit for Pomeranz in the 5th--in my judgment, exactly the right move.

As for Hembree, he went into that game with an ERA below 2. Plus we were just in the 6th inning. Farrell had every reason to expect one inning from Hembree and lots of reasons to hesitate replacing him. Plus he only threw 13 pitches as it was. Had it been late innings and the Sox ahead, then pulling him quickly might have made sense.
