For many years when the Red Sox or Yankees played the Orioles, Camden Yards would be packed, even when the O's were terrible. Red Sox fans and Yankee fans made the trip in droves. I would go to Camden Yards at least once a year. I have been noticing that despite the O's and Red Sox fighting for first place that there are plenty of empty seats in Camden Yards the last couple of games. I guess that is what happens when you burn down your city for a week trapping fans inside the ballpark for their own safety. I always loved going there and eating crab cakes at the inner harbor, but I heard a few horror stories about Red Sox fans that were there when all hell broke lose in that city so I will not be going any time soon.

I've had nothing but great experiences there, starting with clinching the 1996 ALCS in the 3rd base box seats. Been there several times since, always a great experience.

BTW, the same guy that designed Camden also designed the ballpark at Arlington, another cool park to visit.

In previous years I never had issues and I like the park, its nice, but its the parts around the park, and other s*** going on I don't like.

Yeah the park has been completely empty this year, even for Sox/Yankees games. I was at the riot game last year and it terrified a lot of people, including fans of both teams. No one was really even concerned about the game at that point. Orioles won on a walkoff but no one really cared, it was all wondering "is our car okay, can we get home, what is going on outside the stadium" which should never be your thoughts at a sporting event.Trying to leave that game was legitimately scary, especially for people who came from Boston and didn't know the city of Baltimore at all. I have a lot of friends who've sorta turned on the city since that game and I feel like a lot of people feel the same way. Which is probably the reason for so many empty seats, despite the orioles actually being a good team this year. Baltimore is such a shithole.

At least you guys didn't go to the game and have to listen to the dumbest fan base in baseball talk s***... I had to explain to an idiot the Orioles didn't sweep the Red Sox... He was arguing with me that winning the last 2 of a 4 game series is a sweep..

Do they teach basic math in Baltimore?

If i were the owner of the Orioles, I would have that mayor run out of town. The mayor and the rest of their crooked politicians are pleading for empowerment zones and for businesses to move there and create jobs. A week of riots is not going to have the effect of inducing businesses to line up to invest in Baltimore, nor were the businesses that got burned to the ground going to be anxious to rebuild.
