David Ortiz is out of the lineup today. That's an interesting call considering the game he had yesterday.

And didn't he just have an off day a few games ago?

 

Either way, hopefully Fat Nacho, or whatever they said his dumb ass nickname is, has a good start today.

Yeah, I thought he had a day off recently. Hopefully this offense can get it done without him. Interesting that's what this guys nickname is. Doesnt have a Spanish name, that's for sure.

According to people on this site O'Sullivan did a good job last start. I guess the pitching for this team is so bad we consider 6 innings with 12 hits and 4 runs a good start.

I still think we're going to have to pick up another starter at the trade-deadline.

 

No doubt. Owens, O'Sullivan, Kelly and Buchholz are not even giving the team a chance to win in a majority of their starts. Even if E-Rod comes back and pitches like last year, another pitcher is still needed IMO.

You do know that Ortiz has bad wheels and he did a lot of hard running yesterday. He even said he was going to be sore today. I want Farrell to be too cautious at this point of the season with Ortiz.

No it wasn't, he sucks. 4 runs in 6 innings is a 6 ERA, and a solid 2.00 WHIP. He was giving up bullets to guys hitting .200.. Hell today he gave up a 3 run bomb to a guy hitting .198 coming into the game.

 

Journeyman is a nice way to describe a guy who sucks, as shown by his career 12-23 record with a career 6.00 ERA...

It makes me nervous that we're relying on a knuckleballer to be the second best on the staff. When He's on, the knuckle is hard to hit. But, when he's off, he gets smashed. There is no grey area.

No one said he should be nominated for a Cy Young. Of course he not any good. But ask any manager, GM, owner or player and ask what you want from a guy like that who is going to be back in the minors in another week and might not even be in the organization by the end of the year. They want him to give you a chance to win and don't blow up the bullpen. That's what he did. You yourself said he sucks. So what did you expect? You probably expected him to go three innings and give up eight runs.

Offense has been great.

 

Seems like you can even put junk pitchers -like some we have- and we still are going to win.
