Yes, that would be tragic. Like I say, it's a sad state of affairs when a baseball fan is valuing a 'protected pick' over seeing his team playing good ball and winning games. I'd rather have the kids on the team performing and gaining confidence, thanks.

Realistically, we could finish 3rd. We're only 3 behind the Rays. If the O's lose to the Yanks today, we're tied with them. I would like to get to .500 because it wouldn't mean a lost season.

 

I agree. I think if we continue to play winning ball it will give the whole organization and the fans a positive feeling of confidence going into the off season. Also, not finishing last would save the organization from the ignominy of 3 last place finishes in 4 seasons. .500 also is a meaningful milestone, but it will come to late for Ben.
