I had a good night sleep in White Sulfur Springs WV in 1977.

Of course I was exhausted from riding my motorcycle down the Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway all day.

Otherwise the inbred young man ( much like the one playing the banjo in Deliverance ) hovering outside my motel room would have been even more disturbing.

White Sulfur Springs is known for two things. It is the Hometown of Sam Snead. And Spudboy slept there.

That is on my "to do" list.

I hear it's a blast.

I don't think they have internet service in WVA.

Verizon has almost no coverage statewide, as I learned the hard way. AT&T is solid, and there are plenty of places with free WiFi, to go along with those who can afford it.

VERY different. I've been to West Virginia, and I don't expect anyone will come on the site to dispute my opinion that it is a hellhole. Mainly because I doubt anyone there can type.

I went to school in West Virginia, around the tri-state area. It was reasonably close to home, it was a nice area, the financial aid package couldn't be beat, and the university wasn't too bad either. Unfortunately the vast majority of WV has been killed off by the needs of the rest of the US. Coal mining and the almost surf-type system implemented allowed for no type of economic development. Some areas of WV are amazing, either natural beauties or just nice residential areas. It's just that most towns or "cities" are very low middle class or extremely poor.
