Oh it seems like forever since we last saw real baseball played.

Tonight the thirst is quench.

Five days without baseball just sucks.

I expect no miracles in the second part of the season. I would just like to see the Sox be in games with a good chance to win. I ask to much?

Lineups are in. Same ol' crap. Doesn't mean they can't win, but still dumb. Vazquez has been excellent (small sample size warning), and in his first start with Buchholz, Clay pitched probably the best game of his career, so yeah, make sure Vazquez is on the bench for .176 hitting Ross who has struck out every at bat vs Shields.

Betts wasn't the immediate spark the team hoped for, but he hasn't had much of a chance either, and if he's gonna be an outfielder, then he should probably be playing every day in the OF somewhere. He'll get sent down when Vic is back, so at least he'll be back to playing full time . Yay for baseball, makes me so happy.

Victorino and Buchholz are the keys to this team's potential comeback.

If Buch pitches like he did last week, that rotation starts looking excellent again -- especially if RDLR has a say about it. If Victorino can add speed, top notch defense, and an above mendoza outfield bat to the mix, that certainly helps.

What was in the water that you drank in Chicago? Maybe you have the color of the Sox confused? I seriously doubt that the Sox will "comeback" to make the playoffs ( if that is what you mean to say ).

How does another near Mendoza bat help this team?????? Victorino's defense can be stellar. But how many wins will that account for? And if he does not hit well how will he utilize his speed to help the Sox win?

The Bucholtz return to effectiveness is nice to see and a big surprise to many. I just don't see the Sox scoring enough runs when he pitches to make much of a difference.

The clusterf*** program continues now even though we're in the second "half" and we are four-fifths dead on arrival. You're right jd---it doesn't mean we can't win but with Drew and Ross in the lineup it becomes much harder. And what the hell is Vasquez and Betts doing up on the big club if they're not going to play? How many damn mistakes is the front office allowed this season, two hundred?

We are still putting out a horseshit lineup. If Benny who pisses excellence isn't giving up on the season, he needs to get another bat very fast or the season will be unredeemable. IMO, he gave up on the season other than a miracle happening. If he hasn't written off the season, he'd be doing something to improve the team. He has been a pretty straight shooter, so hopefully he is working on something.

Farrell has said that Vasquez would usually sit the first game of a series when possible so he can watch and hopefully learn how the Sox pitch to opposing hitters.

So expect to see Vasquez tomorrow?

I think he is letting the team work with what it has. There is a lot of untapped potential in the offense. If the team can sneak up to 5 games back, I see him making a trade for a bat... at 10 games back, it isn't worth wasting the prospects.

Bradley doing what he does best -- getting overpowered by a major league pitcher.

Yup. When he gets challenged even by alright heat, his bat is just too slow.
