Hi all,

Firstly it's great to see the Red Sox doing so well after last season. Let's hope they close it out this week!

The reason for this post is because I am looking at coming over to Boston from the UK next year with the missus. I'd love to catch a game whilst over. I'm looking at booking the trip soon, but of course the schedule isn't released yet. So, I'm kind of looking for a banker set of days when the Sox usually play at home. I'm kind of looking at Patriots Day or around then. Is this a safe assumption or is there any other days I could look at? Ideally I need to come April or May.

Cheers all.

Patriots Day is good if you can ... granted the Marathon security will sadly be much tighter and I don't know how that will impact getting around in general.

The advice I'd give is - besides the opener or Patriots's Day (which is an 11 AM start) - if you have to come in April, try to avoid the weeknights

Probably coming the weekend around the 6th April. The Brewers/Rangers are in town. Since I'm in the uk not sure if tickets will be sent or if I will pick them up. What's the normal procedure for buying tickets, has anyone here bought them from overseas before?

Right, trip booked!

I'm coming over the 4th till the 8th April. How far in advance to game tickets go on sale? It will prob be either the brewers on sat or the rangers on Monday. There are 3rd party sites selling tickets now, but I'm reluctant to use them.

Cheers to anyone who can help.

My advice is to just keep checking the Red Sox website to see when tickets go on sale. To my knowledge as of now, tickets are not currently on sale to the public and there has been no release date yet. You can always sign up for the Red Sox Insider here:

Fill out the email information for Red Sox Insider at the top of the page for updates on ticket information. I would stay away from third party sites as of now. Wait until they go on sale to the public. The only way I ever use third party sites is for last minute tickets that people are trying to sell that are cheaper than face value. Generally, tickets on third party sites are astronomically higher unless it is for teams like the Astros or Marlins. Coming off of a World Series championship, tickets will be in higher demand at the start of the year.

I wouldn't recommend sleeping on those tickets, tickets are in high demand and tend to disappear very quickly. There are places where you can buy tickets secondhand, but you can bet you'll be paying through the nose if you can't get them when they're first released.

Our accents seep into the way we type via the way we think in words too. It's just interesting to see it from a similar but distinct culture.
