Our problems with LH pitchers sorta' makes sense. Naps can't get on track. WMB is still lost IMO. Gomes comes up big in big moments but he is no monster day in and day out. Salty's weak side is from the right....and I like Vic more from the Left than Right.... So there ya' go. If I were playing the Sox in coming weeks I would be scouring my system for LH pitchers. Heck I would throw every LH pitcher I had at them.

Pettite hasnt been great this season, but you still gotta admit, most of the lefties he have played and struggled against are just really good pitchers and the sox never saw oberholtzer before. Andy has been nasty tonight. They certainly are not the best at hitting lefties, but a lot of the lefties they have struggled against were just flat out good pitchers.

They just haven't hit LHP that well at all this season, especially soft tossing lefties.. The only LHP I've seen them tear up was CC, and he's pretty good last time I checked.

What these LH pitchers are just good when they play the Sox.....weak hitting is weak hitting....Other than Pedey we really don't have anybody dependable from the right side...we just don't.... Maybe 700 is right. We might should have been more aggressive on Reynolds....although I don't think he would have been an answer for us.

Besides as usual with us it is the other side of the equation that is really sort of getting out of hand...that being the pitching.

This idiot has no self-respect. Yankees dropped him like a bad habit so they could woo Giambi. He should have had nothing further to do with them. Instead he comes back as if all is forgiven.

Lol umm what?

Well getting into the pen has been our salvation lately. We are doing nothing against starters lately. Maybe it will be our salvation tonight.

Red sox are pretty much middle of the pack in the al vs lefties. Not bad, but not terrible. Plus, sox usually play very tough lefties and when you account only 25 percent of the pitching populace are south paws, they do get a lot of tough lefties. They did blow up joe saunders, who is a lefty, but isnt great.

Yeah, I was wondering what that was about.

Maybe it wasn't Giambi, because the years don't match up, but when it was time to talk new contract, Steinbrenner was going hard after someone else (a FA hitter) and little to no attention was paid to Pettitte and his agent. This was reported at the time and it's pretty obvious that Steinbrenner never liked Pettitte.
