Not meaning to overreact, just kind of noticing some things, getting a lot of hits but scoring few runs, giving up a lot of hits etc.. Hey I know the team is tired and they have been 200% better than my expectations this year but to go from guns blazing in the first half to a .500 team that has looked flat for the past few weeks is just concerning. The AL East isn't getting any easier in recent years.

Unlike 2011, we are not rolling bags of garbage to the mound 3 out of every 5 games. Our rotation (even without Brittle Buchholz) is much stronger than 2011. I will keep us in more games and we will win our fare share of them. What is different from 2011 is that we don't have as big a lead and there is more time left than when the slide started on September 1st 2011. The other difference is that our lineup is healthier.

Yea but their getting caught because other teams have picked it up since the ASB which is what happens in crunch time. It does not matter if we have basically stood still offensively, it is the equivalent of going backwards. That is what I was saying earlier...classic Red Sox. I have got so many tread marks up my back from watching other teams run me over during the past 50 years.

They were down 1/2 game on July 30th. They are up 2 now.

We really don't. We are tied in the loss column with the Rays having games in hand...not good.

 

I think they have got to and I mean got to get XB and even JBJ up here now. This is no longer a dynamic offense. It is a plodding offense but does not have the muscle to just bash the opponent into submission. They need young legs and some youthful dynamic play which is what they have not had without Iggy and JBJ....and what happens as I say that...Gomes...another plodder gets picked off.

This team is having a bad 7 game stretch, in which they lost three of those games by one run. If we put that much stock into 7 game samples, Will Middlebrooks would be the next Ted Williams.

Luckily everyone else has been sucking just as bad as us, or worse. No doubt we take the division though. This is a better team than the 2011 one.

Well for our starting pitchers right now, if you think of the person with purely the best stuff, it has to be peavy. We dont have anyone active on our staff right now that has stuff that dazzles.
