September 2011 Redux/

 

I'm not joking in the least.

 

I'm 50/50 on this team making the post season this year. They've come out flat as complete s*** in the 2nd half. They're hitting .256 with a .329 OBP as a team post ASB. They're scoring 4.42 runs per game after tonight, which is down 0.75 runs per game, and they've faced some of the worst teams in all of baseball.

 

I'm not even sure I'm 50/50 at this point. I may be 40/60, in the bad way.

Well I don't know about lifeless but you are right about them finding multiple ways to lose now and that is scary as I pointed out a week or so ago. Once it becomes , one night no bats, one night no pitching, one night the opponents are running wild on the base paths, one night the defense looks like swiss cheese....this is how winning two out of three turns into losing two out of three.

 

Opponents are really focused on our weaknesses now and there are quite a few. So that is making it tough. Clearly teams are really focused on making sure Ortiz does not beat them. All they can do though is concentrate on the things that got them here and hope its enough. by year end though I know I am going to want to punch Buch right in the mouth....I can see it coming.

They aren't hitting lefties. And nobody is doing anything about it. Drew is hitting .192 against lefties. Time for the FO to earn their pay before this club misses the playoffs.

You know what? No f***ing ban is needed. I made a deal, and I'm sticking to it. If I make another GT this season, I get banned permanently. If I make one next season, and the Sox lose the first game, temporary ban the first 2 times it happens.

The trip to Hou, KC, and TOR was supposed to be where they made up ground in the standings.

 

Instead they went 4-6. They should have gone at least 6-4.

 

Now we have a revived Yankees, with ARod, Granderson, and Soriano, and oh by the way it's Kuroda v Lackey and CC v Dempster on Sat and Sunday, good luck there.

 

Then we go out west where hopefully we can sweep the Giants because I can't see us taking more than 1/3 vs the Dodgers.

 

The more I think about this team, the more I worry about the PS.

Wish the yankees offense was as s***** as when we played them right after the all star break, but with soriano, grandy man, arod, and now mark reynolds, that offense is much more potent.

How were they lifeless? It's one of those nights where they just swing at pitches at the wrong times. Lifeless would be 3 hits or less.
