Workman has given up four runs. Wright gave up three. What makes you think it would have been any better if Workman came into the game in the first instead of the second?

Pretty much what Forsyth said. I'm guessing you've never seen Workman pitch? Him not starting is obviously playing a role in how he is pitching. The way Wright as throwing, we would have gave them 10 free runs right now. Lets be realistic here.

I'm not saying that Wright should have started. It's really stupid to take a chance like they did, when you are in a tight race for the playoffs. What I am saying is, Workman didn't look like he has what I've been reading about (I haven't gotten the chance to see him pitch).

He looks like he's still not warm, to be honest. He came up from Pawtucket as a starter in AAA and had no experience in relief since college, so the whole "get ready in 12 pitches" routine is awfully new to him.

Well I am sure part of the "logic" used for tonight was that the Astros would not be able to hold the Sox down two nights running especially with tonight's Astros starter going and ....here we are.

I still have a bigger issue with throwing Lavs to the wolves. He obviously could not catch the knuckleball and considering how knuckleball pitchers can often start badly and then rattle off 6-7 strong innings that to me was the bigger issue. I seriously doubt Lavs would have gotten any better catching the thing regardless of what Wright did.

Nap is wearing a sign that says I need a day off.

Hope that coach was wearing a cup.

Naps just got the ASB off not too long ago. But I do agree that Naps was always going to require more time off than the Sox seemed ready to give him IMO. However I think there is more to it than that. A day off is not going to quicken Naps bat that much.

The Red Sox are going to see every LHP on the planet the last two months of the season--and the playoffs, if they make it. Clearly, that's the way to beat them. Edited by SoxSport

I remember saying I hope Napoli doesn't become A-Gon part 2. It seems like it's happening because after the all star break, Napoli hasn't impressed me much.

Typical low average, low OBP guy who is streaky and strikes out a lot. Not exactly Manny Ramirez.
