Man the Yankees just cannot string enough offense together to hurt you at this point. Lucky to string two hits between three outs.

Isn't it grand?

How awesome has Mike Carp been?

We're in the 2nd half and he still has a .900's OPS.

He makes good contact when the ball is in play.

I'm not sure if Napoli will able to pick it up, he has like a sub .700 OPS since May. I hope he does like his career in the 2nd half.

I'm guessing there's a typo somewhere in that first part.

They are on a good run for sure, but the Rays don't scare me. Especially in a series matchup I worry about the Orioles much more.

If the Red Sox have 5 series in a row with the Twins, White Sox, Astros, and Mariners, I bet they would have won 9 of 10 too.

It is almost too funny to watch them now. If the player has a smidgen of talent, he has no brain....enter Mr. Gardener....then the rest of them basically have no talent...maybe Nunez has a little....Overthehill....I mean Overbay, Wells....a tiny little bit left in the tank it seems.

In Gardener's case he just about does enough stupid s*** to balance out his talent...almost exactly....uncanny how exacting that works out in his case.

Cano must feel pretty lonely out there.

Pretty much this. And sorry to sound like a broken record but we have whooped their asses in all of the series between us so far.

They may have to re name the surgery John Lackey surgery.

"Lackey, John Surgery" ?

Crazy fact I heard the other day. Of the 400+ pitchers on major league rosters, roughly 1/3rd of them have had Tommy John surgery.

What the hell is that kid doing?

He's by the Yankee dugout. When Yankees are looking to dump a foul ball, he switches his hat, makes it look like a Yankee fan, gets the ball, and subsequently switches the hat. Genius.

Three pitches, three pathetic strikes for Drew. Why is this guy getting priority over Iggy at SS again?

Agreed Drew has been sub par with his bat...... but at SS or third Iggy gets to bat just as much.

Yeah I know. Was merely an attempt at humor.

I hope he takes a nice long shower when he gets home, who knows why kind of crap that hat carries in it.

I'm pretty sure he actually has like the 3rd best SS OPS in the AL. A .720 with good D is more than enough for a shortstop in my opinion.

Ellsbury swings at the first pitch again, I'm going to run on the field and break his ribs.

In all fairness, they were both hit fairly hard.

Too bad they don't show it on TV.

It's depressing that we aren't winning this game, but Kuroda is a hell of a pitcher (talk about another age defying signing) and the game is still young. We can't honestly lose to their offense, right?

We can if our offense doesn't show up.

Ells seems to me to be just about perfect right now from the perspective of aggressiveness at the plate. He is not swinging at pitches he cannot drive. He is picking good pitches to hit...just happen to be early in counts...I am as critical as anybody here of impatience at the plate but you can't let pitches you can drive go hoping for something better later in the count. You may just as likely be behind in the count stuck trying to hit a pitcher's pitch.

I do think he is guess hitting and guessing right as opposed to reacting. He is all over those pitches.

Well, we aren't losing, and Nava should have caught that double by Overbay, and there are 2 down.
