First pitch of the game goes for a double, Cano plunked on the knee. Not an auspicious beginning for Harvey.

Harvey is the real deal. He has a great chance to be their next Seaver --45 years after he broke in and 30 years after he threw his last pitch for the Mets. I thought Gooden would take the mantle, but he flamed out fast from drugs.

I'm a little surprised they didn't bring him out in the ninth, it would have been much more appropriate to let him get the save.

That's really messed up. I have been tuning in and out. After Mo got the 3rd out, I turned off the TV assuming it was the end of the game.

Not really, remember the AL play in an NL park, so Mo may never had a chance to pitch the 9th, pitching the 8th guarantees he is in there. I'm sure this was decided in advance.

You're right, it turns out Leyland was worried that if the other might relievers blow the lead that inning and Rivera wouldn’t get in the game lol

If the AL pitchers give up 4 runs in the eighth, and the AL doesn't score in the top of the ninth, then there is no bottom of the ninth for Mo to pitch.
