Particularly with Webster, De La Rosa, Britton, and Ranaudo all having big years. Britton and Ranaudo will probably be up in Pawtucket very soon. Gotta think guys like Terry Doyle, Aceves, and Steven Wright aren't exactly "blocking" these guys.

Not counting anything from Britton and De La Rosa. Both would make starts already if the club believe they could. We need someone with potential like Halladay. I will be willing to wait on De La Rosa, he has a good arm.

Feels like it's been that way most of the season.

The Sox are #1 in runs score. They have stretch they have drought in runs. Happans to all tema.

Roy Halladay will be 37 years old next year, coming off a shoulder injury. Can you name many successful old pitchers with shoulder problems?

I'm sure, and it's largely because the Sox are really good at getting on base, so when other players get out it's a lack of hitting with RISP more so than a team that gets out and doesn't have players get on beforehand.

Baseball is a weird game, over the course of the season you gotta take the good with the bad, but it's still frustrating and tough to watch some times.

You do realize that RDLR is one of the guys they're debating on to make the start in Buch's place on Saturday, no?

His problem is that he's coming off of TJS and his command isn't quite there yet. You're getting a good idea of what you could get from him right now in Archer.

As for Britton, why exactly are you giving up on him? He's got a 3.08 ERA in Portland this year. and in his last 5 starts encompassing 32 IP, he's allowed 2 ER. That's a 0.56 ERA.

Come on Aceves. 3 quick outs pls.

I have a rules question. If you're playing a doubleheader, and there is a big rain delay, can you call the first game as an official game after 5 innings, and start the 2nd game, or does the first game have to be completed in its entirety prior to starting the 2nd game?

Posted
The other thing is that though we didn't play 5 innings, the home team was batting and had the lead so they might as well have played 5 innings. I don't think MLB sees it the same way though.

I believe on the rays telecast they said it is considered an official game right now. However, if they called this game early due to rain, 2nd game of double header would be postponed automatically... At least that's what I understood from what they were saying

I'll take it, a win is a win.

I dunno, I remembered something similar and I just looked this up...a day-night doubleheader at Fenway back in April/09 against the Twins. The first game was called after 7 because of rain with the Sox winning. And they did play the second game.

That's the rule for a DH. Game 2 can't be played if game 1 get call early.

Rain should be out in 25-30 minutes. I'm getting the very worst of it where I live. I had to come home in this mess.

It was botch. 2 year ago they also had a DH and game 1 had to be finished prior to game 2 starting.

I think what happened in 2009 was that the Twins had to agree to call the first one an official game. The score was 10-1 so they probably said f*** it, let's try to play the second one.

Weather.com has this rain stopping at about 7:30. Not sure if they would try to squeeze the rest of this game and the 2nd game in tonight or just finish this one and push the night cap

I would play 2 games tomorrow. Makes more sense.
