There is no excuse for not hitting in Fenway against this Minnesota team. One of the worst pitching teams in baseball. Farrell figured they'd start hitting again at home. Not yet. Maybe it's good MBrooks gets some time off. Maybe he needs some AAA time to get his batting eye back. I'd like to see Iggy up and Drew playing 3B. Iggy might give them a spark--in one way or another. And Drew has gotten hot.

You have to make bold moves if you want to stay in the hunt. They seemed to have gotten the message, bringing up Webster and Lav. I would send MB down and bring up Iggy to play SS a few games. He's in a funk and needs stroking--not benching. The kid can play.

Drew's taking pitches. So is Pedey.

True but Pedey and Vic involved in a HR contest that is clearly having an impact at least on Vics approach at the plate is just plain stupid.

SoxSport, we aren't hitting worth s*** right now and bringing up Iggy who isn't even hitting down at Pawtucket isn't going to help us put tallies on the board. At least that is my opinion. I think people are not putting the blame where it belongs. Ellsbury looks absolutely lost at the plate. He never goes to the opposite field anymore, just tries to pull every f***ing pitch, like two nights ago when he killed another rally with a double play routine grounder to second. And Victorino needs to start hitting again as well, and they both need to be turned loose on the bases assuming they can get on. Jung is absolutely right in that we have changed our offensive pattern and are trying to be a big inning slugging team. We are not that right now and it is showing.

As for bringing up Lavarnway, there is someone who needs a long and good look....finally, and not having him look over his damn shoulder every time he fails to get a hit.
