Wonder why it's a HUGE k zone. Diaz is the HP ump. People may hate him, but he's a pitcher ump to most that throw strikes. His performance not behind the plate is something else.

Almost surprised they don't have Vic batting first and Ells second. Vic never tries to do too much with the pitch. Just leaves the head of the bat in the hitting zone as long as he can and doinks the ball into the outfield.

 

I thought the same thing. I've been really impressed with Vics entire play.

Doubront strike to ball ratio is absolutely terrible. Nieves has done a good job with other pitchers, hopefully Doubront comes around.

He's doing fine yeah, but running his pitch count up over 70 through the 4th inning isn't really that great.

Felix does need to find a few more bats with such a big lead. Any walks are not that great with such a big lead and they are not helping his pitch count. He may not be able to get past six just based on pitch count. That would be sort of a travesty with such a big lead.

Jeez, Ortiz does not play one day in Pawtucket because of a sinus infection and then misses the next game cause of soreness in his heels? This heel thing is starting to look like it is going to cost him more time than the Achilles unless the Achilles finally just blows on him. Just cannot seem to get rid of the heel thing.

In other words I'd rather lose one by a lot to increase my chances of winning another than to potentially lose both.

I don't think I have ever seen anything like this before. Up 7-2 but on 101 pitches with two out in the 5th inning!
