Jesus guys. He blew ONE game. Y'all were praising him the other day and now you are ragging on him. CALM THE F DOWN

We have a pitcher capable of replacing Papelbon: His name is Koji Uehara, and he is awesome.

He's by far the best option we have, I'm not sure why he isn't used more

True, but I honestly think he deserves a lot of s*** for this game. Btw, this will happen often, get used to it.

Edit: what I meant by often is the overreacting, not the blowing saves. Although, the reactions were not that bad tonight.

He gets paid a lot of money to do one thing... And that opening day save was pretty shakey, too.

Heat of the moment, plus that wasn't just blowing one game, that was blowing it wide open with plastic explosives

Please what? He's had some injury problems, but when healthy, dude is money. 8.03 CAREER K/BB.

Has he ever been a closer before? The 9th inning is different. Not saying he can't, but it's an unknown. Also, I don't think he is durable enough to be an every day closer. What did he pitch 38 innings last year?

classic example of how the one pitcher an inning cookie cutter regimen can lose you games. You use 4 pitchers in 4 innings, one of them is almost bound to s*** the bed. Tonite, the first 3 had their stuff, the 4th didn't. All managers do it these days. Trying to fix what isn't broke. It does backfire.

Better to stick with a guy for another inning if he's effective.

In the old days, they took a pitcher out only if he got into trouble. Now, they play musical chairs every inning--no matter what. It just ain't logical.

Its whatever. I like him at closer, but if it doesn't work out we have 3 other guys that can close. Ben did a good job with this bullpen

Yeah he closed for half a season in Baltimore. He does have durability issues, but again, dude's lights out. Bailey's looking pretty good too.
