Posada was a much bigger part of our offense than Martin was. Posada was coming off a season where he hit .330
Cervelli stinks. The only reason the yanks are making a go with him is that Girardi has a man-crush on him, because he was once a borderline talented major league catcher.

Cervelli has one last chance. He'd been a great defensive catcher in the minors, but when he got to the show, he couldn't throw to second, it was a mental issue. Cervelli can hit a little bit too. Stewart is a strong defensive catcher with no stick at all. The guy who will finish the season as our starting catcher is Romine. But due to the options game, he'll probably start the yr in AAA

People have been saying that the Yanks are getting old and are going to have a down year for the past 10 years. Until it actually happens, I'm not going to hold out hope.

Since 95, they've missed the playoffs only once.

Either way, the Blue Jays must be feeling pretty good about themselves right now.

From what I've seen of Cervelli, he definitely had the tools to be somewhat decent (in 2010 was it?). Not really sure what happened from there, but it'll be interesting to see what he does with this opportunity.

Granderson going down is really interesting. The Yankees are in for a tough stretch at least for a little while, and now they really need to hope that everyone else holds up. Those hit by pitch arm injuries always make me cringe too.

That's 155 HR now that the Yanks have lost. And who knows how Granderson recovers from this injury. Best case he's back by May, but he could very well just be a shell of himself when he returns

no doubt a huge power shortage in ny but

I don't see why U R doubting grandersons return

we aren't talkin about a wrist or hand IMO that's a huge difference

more good news is that it happened so early

plus this should cut down on his K's ;-)

This is hilarious. If this happened to the Red Sox I'm sure you'd be the first to point out that Cervelli's a lite hitting Martin without the defense. Cervelli's struggled to get above a .700 OPS at every level above Single A. Expect to see lots of Chris Stewart who can actually play defense but is a <.600 ops hitter.>

While the troll is a troll, he brings up a good point. Romine hasnt been good from AAA up. In his defense, he has had a grand total of 69 AAA at bats and has been injured for the last 2 seasons. His last healthy season, he hit .286 with an OBP over .350. As he gets bigger, he should hit more homers, so I am expecting him to eventually be a Russell Martin clone from his Dodger days. .290/.360/.400 slash line guy

Classic jackoff comment! Projecting major league ability on what he had hoped a prospect was headed towards if he developed a skill he's never displayed. Let's take a look at his actual numbers compared to jackoff's projection at the major league level.

AA - .276/.336/.392

AAA - .197/.267/.342

Jackoff's Wishful Thinking at MLB - .290/.360/.400

Truly magical.

Who's going to replace Granderson? The .244/.286/.375 hitting Juan Rivera? The .222/.280/.333 hitting Matt Diaz? Or maybe he 2 MLB at bat Melky Mesa who's hit .244/.315/.436 in the minors?

Pick your poison.

Making fun of Jacko is fun, but when you take the time to make multiple accounts to do so, that's pretty pathetic. Give it a rest already. If you want to stay and be an active contributor to the site, then please stay. If not, when you get banned, think of all the things you can do with your time.

He's just a pathetic mess of a human being. I like each of these thinly veiled attempts to troll, because it gives us the opportunity to witness true insanity and to ridicule him.

And I love watching you get so upset about an internet forum because it gives me the opportunity to see what being a miserable old man must be like.

 I like this forum. It brings me pleasure as does laughing at you. Tick tock on the countdown to your next ban.

One of us makes passive aggressive jabs at virtually every other poster on this forum, then plays the victim when they get called out on it and engages in flame wars until it's time for a nap or an admin steps in and threatens to temp ban them again. The other one says it like it is and doesn't care if they get banned because these mods are completely inept and preventing me from keeping me from coming back.

I'd much rather be the person who tells it like it is then the whiney, passive aggressive bitch of the forum.
