Aceves allows more runs tonight than Bard did in all of 2010 at Fenway (only 2r).

Everyone on both teams who has pitched has allowed more than 2 runs.

Ha, 14-12. Postseason officially flushed down the toilet 2 months ago, but this hurts. So, whose bandwagon are we jumping on?

Usually I don't decide who I want to cheer for in the postseason until the Sox are out of it for sure. Technically they aren't, but seeing as I doubt they will make it, I have decided to root for the Pirates. I've mentioned before I have a family connection to Pittsburgh, and it would be cool to see them win it all.

Assuming they get knocked out, Washington. After that, I don't care really as long as it isn't the Yankees or Orioles.

I guess we will be enemies for the post season. I'm rooting for the Orioles.

I've grown fond of the Pirates myself. I don't have family connections though. The teams I do have family connections to are the Guardians, Orioles, and Yankees. Yuck.

I realize that on this night V had to use seven guys because as usual our starter was hitting the shower before the networks convert to mainly adult based programing. But done is done. There is no second guessing totally done. Your guy is just out there hoping that the hitters miss the pitches.

That is no bet at all. While good pitching will always beat good hitting, you will earn a healthy respect for ML hitters any time you are in the park and the pitcher is completely played. 175 pound SS's start bombing the fences and if you leave the guy in there long enough it begins to look impossible to record an out. Aceves was pitching somewhere between where I started that last sentence and where I ended it and had to come out regardless of the consequences to tomorrow's game or game after. Seven relievers in you are kidding yourself at that point anyway. It is a no win situation though. V has already ragged out these arms at least once this season and maybe even twice. At some point they just cannot recover without a long rest and I am sure V knows he is stepping right on that last nerve right now.

Hopefully our September call ups, the real "varsity" compared to the slobs who take the field currently, can help derail as many AL east teams out of the post season as possible.

Considering the fact that we have 6 left against the Yanks, O's and Rays, that's very possible.

I hate you sir for rooting for the orioles

Sorry the first baseball jacket I got was an Os one. It was my mothers when she was a child. Her favorite player was Robinson.

Well the Rays are overhauling the yanks as we speak. Jacko has probably gone to the mattresses and called a priest. If they do overhaul them and win the east that could upset the AL East apple cart big time and send the WC teams out west.

I gotta pull for the Reds. My Father in law is a Reds fan and he's 80. This might be his last chance.

My grandfather just had a stroke and he's a Sox fan. Deal.

I wish we could knock all 3 out. Best case scenario- we let one team sneak in as division winners, but they lose home field advantage.

I apologize buddy. Didn't know there was some history behind it. But I still can't forget last year.

The fight for the 2nd WC spot is like the Syrian Civil War.

Hey Pedey, nice hit! Next time hit it over the wall. 14-13.
